P-Channel MOSFET

In this tutorial, we will looking at how to use a P-Channel MOSFET. The P-Channel MOSFET that we will be using here is VP0300LS.


Below is the PIN configuration for VP0300LS


For P-Channel MOSFET, the gate needs to be negatively induced to reach ON state. In other words, gate needs to be negatively induced to allow current flow from source to drain.

To understand how to operate P-Channel MOSFET, setup the circuit as shown below :

Once done, adjust the resistor knob to see the reactivity in the LED. You should that the LED becomes the brightest when it is closest to 0V reading in voltmeter which is reaching negative voltage and completely shuts when the voltage is close to 5V.


This indicates that the P-Channel MOSFET is only induced when the gate is negatively induced.
